Mauna Kea - is the highest mountain in the world!

STATUS: TOP SECRET

DIFFICULTY LEVEL: VERTICAL CHALLENGE
The Mauna Kea mission is more than just a bike challenge, it’s a philosophical rethinking of vertical. You challenge conventional wisdom about height and depth by riding your bike up the same as the true queen of mountains – 33,500 feet (10,203 meters), including its hidden underwater portion.

CLIMB CHOICE:
• Mauna Kea Full Height – 10,203 meters: Take the iconic challenge to the limit, pushing your limits. This will require consistent elevation gains on different sections of your route to reach a total of 10,203 meters.
• Mauna Kea Half Height – 5,101 meters: For those just starting out or pressed for time. This option will allow you to touch the philosophy of the mission, but leave room for future growth.

MISSION RULES:
You are the rule for this mission. Preparing your equipment, your physical and mental preparation – everything is in your hands. The only limitation is the time you stop, it should not exceed 30% of the total time spent on the bike.
The only rule: you can stop for up to 30% of the total time spent in the saddle. (e.g. 10 hours total = 7 hours of biking + 3 hours of rest)

MISSION FEATURES:
• The mission requires a total elevation gain, not physical presence on Mauna Kea
• You can choose any route – from multiple ascents of the same mountain to successive overcoming of several ascents
• It is recommended to use a GPS tracker with an altimeter (a modern bike computer or sports watch will do) to record the elevation gain
• It is not the number of kilometers traveled that is important, but the vertical ascent

HOW TO PREPARE:
• Study the terrain where you plan to carry out the mission
• Prepare a bike with suitable gears for long climbs
• Keep in mind that climbing requires a different distribution of energy than flat riding
• Consider a supply of food and water – energy expenditure is significantly higher on climbs

MISSION PHILOSOPHY:
How Mauna Kea hides much of its greatness under water, and our capabilities often remain invisible until the moment of a real test. Overcoming the vertical climb meter by meter, you do not just rise physically – you deepen your understanding of the multidimensionality of the world and your own potential.
At each turn of the pedals, at each new turn of the serpentine, you discover new facets of your consciousness, expanding the usual horizons of perception.

WARNING: The climb requires special preparation and can cause severe physical fatigue. Consider your capabilities and do not try to overcome the entire height in one ride if you are not confident in your strength. The Secret Cycling Club is not responsible for the physical and psychological state of the participants who decide to accept the challenge.

“Climbing to the top of the visible, you descend into the depths of the unknown. In this paradox lies the true height of your spirit.”
